Sam is a British composer and multi-instrumentalist based in London, UK. His notable career highlights include long-running BBC series Doctor Who, Academy Award & BAFTA-winning The Zone of Interest, director Ari Aster’s horror film Beau Is Afraid and Marvel Studios’ Black Widow.

He has further credits for Prada’s The Galleria ad campaign, BBC series Moonflower Murders, GSA BAFTA Shortlisted film Triangle, WWII audio-movie Unsinkable, starring Brian Cox, Channel 4 documentary London's Great Bridges, and Romeo & Juliet, starring Derek Jacobi.

Sam also enjoys working with orchestras, appearing at the Barbican Concert Hall to conduct OrchestRAM and OrchestRAVE - a series of sold-out performances in collaboration with electronic music imprints RAM Records and UKF. Sam also worked alongside the BBC National Orchestra of Wales for Doctor Who at the BBC Proms 2024.

He continues to provide music for shorts and promotional films. Recent clients include Coca-Cola Arena Dubai, The National Trust, RAM Records, the European Bank for Reconstruction & Development, and Museum of London

Sam achieved a Bachelor of Music degree in Film Music Composition at London’s prestigious Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he is now a Professor and Co-Producer of the Guildhall Session Orchestra.

In 2022, Sam was accepted as a BAFTA Connect member in recognition of his contribution to the film and television industries to date and his promising career ahead.

Sam also has a passion for composing music for public audio-visual installations. Recent works include Illuminated River, an ambitious public art commission and the longest official artwork in the world, and the Museum of London’s immersive experience Beasts of London.

Sam has ties with the Barbican Centre through their Silent Film series, providing sound projection for their yearly concerts since 2018.
